The FAA has imposed a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) for a 7 mile radius around the Spirit of St Louis Air Show and STEM Expo. This is due to high speed, low flying aircraft…an air show with Blue Angels and the Canadian Snowbirds among many other high performance exhibitions. OUR FIELD IS CLOSED TO FLYING Thursday June 4 through Sunday June 7 for the hours of 11am to 5pm daily.
Normal flight operations are acceptable outside the above hours…when the air show exhibitions are no longer flying around our airspace. This includes FLIGHT TRAINING NIGHT TONIGHT – We will be flying tonight starting after 5pm.
If you just need to be at the field during the TFR effective hours, bring a lawn chair and watch the show. Last year the Blue Angels were clearly in our airspace several times…come hear the “Sound Of Freedom”, as the Blue Angels call it, from our field and without the crowds.
This is an FAA mandate – so don’t be ‘that guy’ and ignore.
