The racing season continued with our second pylon racing event of 2026, held on June 20th. The weather was beautiful and the field looked terrific! Everyone shout out to our volunteers that make these events work! Ryan Jones, Kevin Mayden, Chris Webb, Ed Morrison, Curt McIntyre and Steve Pokorny – THANK YOU! I want to give personal thanks to Dave Harrington and Bart Asher for being stand in starters for me for two classes…I missed last month due to a schedule conflict when rescheduled. I CD’d this event and snuck in some racing with their help.
We had our pilots meeting where the updated Championship Points system was improved by voice vote. The update is now linked here: https://spiritsofstl.com/pylon-racing/
There were a total of 10 racers competing in 5 different classes over 14 heats of racing! Uproar Sport (1 heat), Four-Star Sport (1 heat), Stock Warbirds (2 heats), Unlimited Warbirds (1 heat), and Sport EDF Jets (2 heats). Racing started about 10:25am with the Uproars up first.
Uproar Sport: Paul Geders 1st, Ralph Doyle 2nd
Four-Star Sport: Paul Geders 1st, Ralph Doyle 2nd, Greg Tesson 3rd

We finished with two full rounds by about 12:45pm. Contestants were polled and the prevailing opinion was to forgo another round.
This event’s results are below. See the Pylon Racing League Updates page for complete standings.

Our next Championship Pylon Racing Event will be July 18th at 10am. We need contest directors for two of the upcoming events. If you have interest in this position for either or both of the uncovered event, please reach out to me: president@spiritsofstl.com
