Membership Chairman’s Report
Ralph Doyle, Chairman
The current membership now stands at 121. Last year the total of the year was 110 for the whole year.
Old Business:
D & D Hauling was contacted to remove the broken freezer. Rich Taylor has taken it upon himself to make available to the club a variety of apparel with the club logo printed on it. A list of items and their cost will be printed on the web site. It is a sad occasion to report that long time member John Bruno was killed in an industrial accident. He was the member who taught our current president, Ralph Grant, how to fly back in 1993. He was 10 days from retirement. You can read John Bruno’s Eulogy here. Steve Ramonczuk won the EDF time trials by completing 3 laps around the pylons in 36.72sec. Dave Harrington showed everyone where NOT to position their thrust reverse switch on his transmitter when he practically took off then proceeded to “land†behind his takeoff point.
New Business:
Model Aviation Day is Saturday the 14th. Food (hot dogs) are being cooked by the â€man of all trades†Ralph Grant. Several events are being planned to add to the enjoyment of the day including a raffle or auction for a new airplane kit. The next contest is a 4-Star/warbird/up-roar series of races on September 11. Dan Morrison has finalized the date for the February club meeting which will be at a local St. Charles middle school. This gives you time to dust off those indoor models. The next club meeting will be at the field September 14, at 7:00PM. Come early and get in a flight or two. Most importantly, nominations for club officers will be accepted at the meeting.
Presentation:
The photo is a LASER 200 scratch built from Model Airplane News plans #7791 by Wayne Nenninger. Designed by Wayne Ulery in Ohio, it was used to compete in the US aerobatics championships. It has an 88″ wingspan, 16 pounds dry with a.2.6 cu in Brison (Sachs Dolmar) engine. All wood and monokote covered in the scheme of a currently flying Laser in Spain.

Been flying R/C since 1993. Building balsa airplanes since I was a kid. I love warbirds, aerobats, and just about anything that will fly.
