Field Maintenance Saturday 31 August

MNT_0013_MNT14-scaled-1

There will be a pre-winter work detail scheduled for this coming Saturday, the 31st. Starting at 9AM and lasting until the runway work is completed. The following tasks are planned:

1.   Painters are needed to touch up the blue flight and charger stations. (paint will be provided – bring a brush)

2.   Pull out the rotting posts between the pavilion and the Jonny on the Spot.

3.    Rotate the rollers to drain the rest of the water out of the drums

4.   Cut out the seams between the concrete and asphalt, Dave will start the cutting early.

5.   Most important is to lay and melt the tar between concrete and asphalt cracks on the runway. If anyone has a large, say 3” diameter nozzle blow torch, that would come in handy to melt the tar.

6.   Inventory the items in the barn. Trash what is not needed

7.   Repair, replace, discard, anything that may come up

The more volunteers that show up the faster the work will be done.

Gawkers and kibitzers also welcome just stay out of the way.
