Meeting called to order @ 7:00pm with 23 members present

April meetings will be @ B.Halls Family Grill O’Fallon, MO / May-Oct meetings @ Bob Gizzie Field

B. Halls deal is we eat their food, drink their beer, generously tip their staff and they’ll be happy to have us here.

Secretary’s Report: Stephen Adams

  • February meeting minutes posted on website
  • Continue to chase a few gremlins. Should the website fail to load for you just wait 5-10 minutes as it automatically resets itself after a critical error.

Show and Tell

  • Tommy brought his FPV airframe
  • Stephen brought an RC Era MD-500 which he flew at the indoor fly-in

Membership Report – Greg Tesson

99 current members plus life members. Average age = 60. Don’t forget to renew by month end to avoid the penalty.

Bring a new guy and let them fly. Help us grow the hobby and the Club.

Safety Committee Chair / FAA Liaison – Dave Harrington

We had a recent fly-away and the reporting process from followed. Thanks for contacting the appropriate authorities to ensure the safety of the general aviation airspace.

Building season is transitioning into fixing season so Stephen shared a lesson learned from last year’s fixing season. Don’t use a metal ruler with a utility knife. It can climb OVER the straightedge and THRU your fingers. He now uses a metal Level which has a 1″ high shoulder. His sons pitched in to buy him “cut” gloves….which he doesn’t use. 😮

Treasury Report – Wayne Nenninger

Current budget is $17k. CD has expired and funds will be moved into the savings account.

We continue to face a budget risk when Dave B retires from field maintenance duties in 2028.

Investment Oversight Committee

No update this month.

Field Committee Report – Dave Brown

  • Picnic table at the flight line and benches has new surface boards.
  • Recommendation to sell the Kubota will be discussed at next BoD meeting.
    • Greg to reinstall the battery
  • Hackmann family offered to grade our driveway as needed at no cost to the club
  • Runway cracks. Freeze and lifting posing no concern at this point. Good reports from the small-wheel-flyers.
