Greg Tesson was CD for Round 5 of Four Star 40, Uproar and Electric Warbird Pylon Racing on Saturday September 20th. The temps were milder than the last few rounds, but the wind came up suddenly partway through the second round of heats, so discretion said we’d hold at 2 rounds for the day, dropping the third round.
Here’s the way it played out…
Uproar: Dan Morrison held off Ralph and Paul in some very competitive heats in the Uproar class.
Four Star: Paul Geders prevailed in the Four Star class. Ralph Doyle put up tight competition, Dan Morrison struggled with engine flame outs.
Stock Warbirds: We had 5 contenders in the Stock Warbirds. Steve Collins and Dan Morrison had a very clean and tight race in first round, Steve Collins took the win. Ralph Doyle captured the win in second heat, but had 2 cuts in second round, handing the win to Paul Geders.
Unlimited Warbirds: A rather odd series of events in Unlimited Warbirds. Ralph Doyle mounted competition with his stock warbird against Paul Geders’ P-51 Voodoo. The first and only heat played out with Ralph Doyle winning after Paul Geders’ plane went up in smoke on about lap 5. End result, Ralph won the day in Unlimited Warbirds with a Stock Warbird!

Season Points Totals:
