In the Shop with Wayne Pt 6

The Robart gear has been disassembled, painted white, cleared, reassembled and reinstalled into the wing. The tailwheel and its gear doors have been built and pockets made and installed to accept the hinges during final assembly. All the servo hatches were installed and set up for surface mounted aileron and flap servos. A hatch has been cut into the fuselage ahead of the canopy and three  switches mounted (two in parallel for the retracts and receiver) and one for the ignition. A manual choke and linkage has been mocked up and installed. A lot of work on the bottom wing fairing and the mounting of the radiator. The pos abs plastic interior was cut out and fitted, painted and mock up installed after trim painted. And, finally, I cut out a steel girdle that fits between the two motor stand offs to eliminate any flexing that might occur. I put the original mounting with the end to end mounts and got berated with negative feelings about running these end to end. Steel with 90 degree shoulder bends is rigid. ( they aren’t done, I still have the sides to bend.) Lots of one off jobs, some large some small, all in an effort to get it ready for covering. Stay tuned…
